Rob Hiscock - Midfield Hatchet Man

The original Cheshire Cat, Rob and his infectious smile can be found lurking in the centre of the pitch as either a defender or midfielder. Rob exudes joviality and amiability, but, as many players have learned, this does not mean he is a soft touch by any means. His hard-tackling and hard-heading makes Rob a fierce competitor, but unfortunately this makes him more susceptible to warnings from the referee. These warnings, more often then not, are deserved as Rob has a tendency to ‘accidentally’ trip/kick the opposition when they have gone round him. ‘Jean Claude Vanne Don’t’ springs to mind! He also finds it difficult to keep his thoughts to himself when wronged by the referee. Because of these afflictions, Rob has had more fouls than Colonel Sanders (think about it guys, ‘Fowls’, ‘Kentucky’) and more yellows than Ronnie O’Sullivan. Rob, as one of the older members of the squad, has had thoughts of hanging-up his boots in previous years, but has so far been unable to do so. This is not purely because of his love of the game, but because of his in-ability to actually attach a hook to the wall to hang them on! You would think that being unable to perform such menial DIY tasks would affect his job as a ‘Handyman’ (sorry Rob, I didn’t really know how to describe it), but all it takes is a wink and a grin and the old ladies are putty in his hands. It doesn’t matter if the jobs not finished because ‘he’s such a nice young man…………………………’
