Phil Murphy - Midfield Maestro

          

It is not common knowledge but this midfield maestro is in fact an accomplished time-traveller. The daily effects of his travels are minimal, but they can be seen if you look closely. One of the two side affects is an allergy to shaving foam. Because of this, his inability to remain clean-shaven lost him his lucrative contract with Gillette which has now been passed to a certain Mr Beckham. Since this time Phil has rebelled and his razor lies, corroding, at the bottom of his shower. The second side affect altered his whole persona. After so many trips, Phil’s body and mind are stuck in the late 1970's. His love of all things from the era is eccentric but harmless; however we older players born in the 70’s are eternally vigilant. Phil wishes that he could again wear the tight, nipple-rubbing, polyester shirts of old and longs for the time when the only time you could spin the ball was to hit it on the laces
