Finally after 26 years of trying Palace Court, the longest serving members of the Blackmore Vale League,
have finally done it.
I'd like to be able to say a few words, but the two managers have conjured up a few themselves. Handkerchiefs at the ready
(incase you are wondering, there are some photos below)
Michael Calverley and James Saunders - PCFC Joint Manager's 2008/09...
To be honest, it really has been a very hard and steep learning curve for both of us, in what is only our first season in charge. Together we have had to make some tough calls which, at times we appreciate may have been a risk and or disappointed some players. We would like to think that as a whole, we did something right by lifting the clubs first ever Division 1 Championship...and lets not forget, the season is not over yet, we must all stay focused and keep on track for the ultimate goal - the BVL Division 1 Championship and the BVL Challange Cup DOUBLE...!. Just as neither myself or Calv could have run or organised this team on our own...we could never have achieved this without all the help, total commitment and passion from such a truly great and amazing bunch of both close mates, and players...thank you all and well done, together I feel we won it in an awesome style - you have been a joy to manage and most of all, to watch you play week in, week out...
Thanks again boys, Bertie and Calvo
